Under the editorship of Christian C. Voigt of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, the book “Evidence-based bat conservation in wind energy projects” was published as a free version for download. The print version is available soon. The book is written in german but each chapter has an english summary and english figure descritpions. This book was developed following a conference of the same name, which was conducted last year and which summarized the state of knowledge on bat protection during the construction and operation of wind turbines. The conference took place in Berlin and was attended by around 300 experts, stakeholders and representatives from expert offices, authorities, the wind industry, research and environmental associations.
